About Elina.

Elina Rani is a senior at NYU Tandon School of Engineering pursuing a BSc in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. She is dedicated to exploring how sustainability intersects with fields like chemical manufacturing. Through her research in the Modestino Research Group, she has conducted extensive electrochemical synthesis experiments using GCMS, NMR, and OT-2 robotics, contributing to multiple publications. Her work at Metal Light Inc. focused on optimizing zinc-air batteries, while her role at Olokun Minerals involved conducting technoeconomic analyses for rare earth mineral purification, deepening her understanding of sustainable chemical processes.

Elina is also a leader in the NYU engineering community, serving as President of both Tau Beta Pi and Alpha Omega Epsilon. She was selected as a GLASS Scholar and is a member of NYU’s Leadership Honors Cohort. Her commitment to innovation has been recognized through awards such as second place at the SPARK Innovation Case Competition. Proficient in Python, C++, SQL, and Fusion 360, she combines technical expertise with a drive to develop sustainable solutions. She is eager to continue researching and implementing sustainable strategies that impact chemical manufacturing and beyond.
